Begging to Differ

The Toronto Star reports that the color white is already a mainstay in many Fall, Winter, and even Spring 2007 collections. I have nothing against white- I think its a classy, fresh color that goes with almost anything. But isn't wearing white for 3 seasons straight stretching it a bit too far? If I were to load up on white outfits, i'd still try to make myself look as distinct as possible with accessories or different styles. This Halogen Boucle cowl neck sweater in ivory paired with a lacy camisole, for instance, is not too bad:

The Star also reports that this white phenomena is a response to more women prefering season-less dressing.*Sigh* but isn't that taking the fun out of dressing up? For me, fall collections are still all about...

1. Highlighting rich colors like plum and textures like corduroy, wool, or velvet. Get this outfit from Max Azria.

2. Finding truly great outer wear that will keep you warm, stylish, and distinct. Why settle for cheesy holiday sweaters or plain jane jackets everybody will be wearing. Armani Exchange dares you to be different with this:

3. Dresses that celebrate the season... Bows that go 'round presents and dresses...adorable bubble hemlines that bring to mind those special holiday dresses we were made to wear as little girls. This BCB Girls Alexandra tulip dress gets it all right.
