Bridesmaid-To-Be

3.jpgMy cousin Roselle just asked me to be a bridesmaid at her wedding next month. I think one of the best things about this wedding is that the bride's entourage gets to choose their own gowns, provided that they're all in the same shade of old rose. Is that considerate, or what? I think bridesmaid gowns usually look horrible because they are meant to be uniform, thus are not able to suit all body types. My cousin, however, is on the right track...with personalized gowns, everybody looks pretty and everybody is happy.

So I've been scanning magazines and many website the past few hours. Its dismaying to see so many generic-looking pieces. Weddings are special and (hopefully) only happen once in a lifetime...shouldn't that be reflected in everything then? Most gowns I've seen so far look like they've been coughed up by the same factory in Hong Kong.

Gowns should be original, romantic, and beautiful things. The closest I've seen to that came from the Vera Wang website. Its meant to be a gown for the bride herself but, because of its simple lines and because it will be rendered in old rose, can look perfect for the bridesmaid as well. A bridesmaid like me :) .
