Does this phone make me look too Phat?

My love for shopping has everything to do with my fickle nature. No sooner have I grown chummy with a new pair of shoes or a handbag when a new item catches my eye. Luckily, this fickleness does not translate into other things. I can declare my fierce loyalty to my job, Marc Jacobs, the music of Carla Bruni and Muse, and...my mobile phone. Mobile phone models seems to be produced every week and there are many, many urbanites who snap them up in a frenzy...never mind that the upgrades are minimal in between.

My last mobile phone lasted me 5 years and I wouldn't have given it up if the hard drive had not fried. I never treated it like a fashion accessory...so instead of buying a new model every time a new one came out, I spent the money on bags, shoes, and outfits. In other words, the real fashion accessories.

I just bought the Nokia 7373 by Giambattista Valli a few months ago and will not be trading it for another unit any time soon. What would have given it serious competition, though, is the Limited Edition Motorola Baby Phat SLVR.

A SLVR will always be a SLVR but what caught my eye was what was engraved in silver at the back: "Fabulousity: 1: a state of everything that is fabulous 2: a quality ascribed to that expresses glamour, style, charisma, power and heart." Let me try to use that in a sentence. "We can custom engrave any quote at the back of our chic phones? Fabulousity!"

Another thing that would have made the Motorola Baby Phat SLVR a shoo in are the freebies (worth over USD$100) that go with it. This baby comes with an entourage: Pink Baby Phat clutch carrying case, built in iTunes(R) which can hold 100 songs, Baby Phat phone charm, pre-loaded Baby Phat wallpapers, and Kimora Lee Simmons lip gloss and fragrance samples.
