Fashion that deserves a trophy

You don’t have to be an athlete to wear athletic clothing. Couch potatoes like me everywhere are rejoicing. Because while I have a body that somewhat resembles an athlete’s (thank you God, for the fast metabolism that goes with youth), I am definitely not one. This does not mean going out in full uniform though. As Stella McCartney has so classily shown us, the key is to integrate sports wear with other pieces in our wardrobe. Here’s how you can do it on your own:

1. Turn “gym” into “glam” by pairing well-fitting track jeans from Adidas’ Carlos Gruber collection with a slinky belt and sexy flats.

2. Go for pieces with neutral colors so they are easy to pair with your other clothing. One white Adidas rain coat for me please (even if its not the rainy season…).

* Side note: Aside from scoping out sports gear, check their non-athletic stuff as well. I love the crown detail on these pulsewarmers from the Adidas Missy Elliott bass line collection.

3. A polo dress, like this one from Pink Caddi, is the “for daytime” equivalent of the little black dress. It will forever be in style so its good to have one in your closet. If its too “mommy-ish” for your taste, pair it up with hot accessories.

4. Ah, I can think of no excuse for the pistachio-hued Nike baseline pleated skirt. Just get it.
