Favorite Vancouver Stores, Part Two of Three

This is part two of a three part series, with the last post following. All reviews & photos are taken by the writer of this article.
GASTOWN.

gastown

With all the construction going around the Gastown area, one often forgets that this district is surrounded by awesome and one of a kind boutiques, alongside some of the best streetwear stores in the nation, let alone the country. My love of these independent boutiques and stores is what makes this district my personal favorite in Vancouver.

ALIFE is a label based out of New York City. With its original designs and concepts, ALIFE has involved into one of streetwear's premier brands. Their branch has extended to Vancouver, BC, it's only Canadian location. Upon looking for the actual store itself, I easily got confused as they have two entrances; but their recently renovated -- and I should also add, quite fresh & sophisticated -- location located at 350 Water Street in Vancouver is quite the sight for sore eyes. Their store does not allow photos inside the store, however outside I made sure to take one from the outside. The staff in the store itself are friendly and helpful as well, and will be able to ship to certain locations depending on the item availability, etc. Contact the store for that information. To see more about ALIFE, check out their website at alifenyc.com or go to their MySpace website at myspace.com/alife.

GOODFOOT on 36 Powell Street in Gastown has those exclusive Nikes and other sneakers that you may want to buy. With a large space, the first part of the store holds their shoes - mostly exclsuives - and walking further into their store, t-shirts and sweaters are found on the left and right hands of the store. Toward the back they have their sale items which are priced at $80+ which is a savings considering these are exclusive / rare sneakers. Make sure you go by and check 'em out, or visit them on their website at getonthegoodfoot.ca.

The other store that I didn't have the opportunity to snap a picture of was LIVESTOCK on 239 Abbott Street. With some awesome sneakers (much like Goodfoot) and variety of shirts, I was able to easily work my way around the store and chat it up with the great and very friendly staff. One of the best things about the store itself was how the staff approached me -- friendly, knowledgeable and outgoing. Make sure to check out their website at http://www.deadstock.ca/.
