Fun Charms

Back in my university days, I met a girl who made beaded earrings as a hobby. Thats when I traded in the standard gold and ruby earrings that looked ok with everything. I started experimenting with those long earrings that she made...so did every other girl in our class. Eventually, most girls in the batch started buying from her. Then the whole uni did. Skip forward to 4 years later and this girl, Happy David, has turned into quite the young designer about town. My friends and I love her but we try to keep away from her place as much as we could because we end up with handfuls of her accessories and lighter wallets.

Her accessories are such conversation pieces. Knowing Happy has also made wearing her stuff more interesting...I know the pieces that have been inspired by, for instance, a favorite song or her recent trip to NYC. She sometimes names them after her friends. There was a shell necklace handpainted with lilies named "Anne". If it was a marketing ploy, it certainly worked- I bought it.

My current favorite is the wooden Mexican horse pendant strung together with a tiny horsehoe. Wear it to spice up a basic tee or to add some drama to a dress.

The Get Happy webby seems to be under construction but you can email Happy directly at triggerhappiness@gmail.com .
