Lip service

I must confess that I dont like slicking on lipstick very much. I can't discount the fact that it can make a woman look more put together. It livens up features and- perhaps because it has been used as a symbol of femininity and seduction on the silver screen for so long- gives the wearer confidence. I have a friend, a university junior lecturer, who says that she doesn't dare face her students until she has her Revlon Red Velvet on.

The first lipstick I experimented with was my mom's Chanel. I'm sure the Chanel was just fine but the feeling on my lips- the feeling of lipstick in general- was heavy, uncomfortable, and funny tasting. Lipstick brands have reinvented themselves since then and they are more bearable to wear but, given the choice, I'd go for liquid lip tints and lip gloss. Its very high school but thats what I use for everyday activities because its more comfortable for me. The lipstick I put on hold for very special occasions (formal dinners, weddings, world domination and the like).

My current favorite is the C.O Bigelow Mentha lip tint # 1139. The menthol (From peppermint oil) creates this cool, tingling sensation upon application...which feels so much nicer than heavy cream.
