If fortune tellers look into crystal balls to predict the future, fashionistas zealously attend fashion shows to have a peek into future trends. One of the most happening shows is the New York Fashion Week, currently taking place in Byrant Park.

Tights are still around, but are getting more and more translucent.

Floaty shifts and mini-dresses dominated the catwalk. They tend to be shapeless and seem more like over-sized shirts but still manage to look chic. The days of tight and body hugging are over...If these will become fashion's near future, boys everywhere won't be too happy about it.

I rather like it. Past trends have fed on the past, from the statement shirts and loud colors of the 80s to the Twiggy look of the 60s. Finally, this generation has a look it can call its own.
