Sizing Up the Sisley Winter Collection

Never mind that it doesn’t snow in India, it’s one of the world’s fastest-growing capitals and that’s where Benetton-Sisley launched their winter 2006 collection. Although they belong to the same brand family, I can tell my Sisleys from my Benettons…Sisley isn’t as colorful but its more fashion-forward and glam. In other words, perfect for partying. Lets see if Sisley’s recently revealed winter collection lives up to its hype.

When I watch fashion shows, I try to imagine what each of the individual pieces look like with other items in my wardrobe. Models go for the shock effect while I simply want to look stylish. I think I’ll make an exception for this, though. I really love the way the clothes are put together- silk and knit wear look gorgeous together and the layering is fabulous. Keep a close eye on this look.

Its vintage with a modern twist. That jacket looks almost too haute to handle…but if you can carry it well, why not?

The sheen on the belt and the trousers are just perfect for the holidays but other than that everything else is so last season!

Errr…what were the designers from Sisley thinking with this one? The model looks like she’s wearing her father’s old winter coat to do some gardening in the cold.

The layering looks bulky on top so I think the batwing shrug will only work if one isn’t wearing knitwear underneath. Teal and magenta look fabulous together though and finally(!)- colored tights. There are too many girls marching around in black, grey, or white tights or stockings.
