SJP gets Bitten by the fashion bug

Although Sex in the City's Carrie Bradshaw goes gaga over Manolos, Dolce & Gabbana, and luxury couture, the real life Sarah Jessica Parker beleives that "it is ever woman's inalienable right to have a pulled-together, stylish, confident wardrobe with money left over to live".

I admit that the statement is kind of daft. Last time I checked, inalienable rights included stuff like freedom and education. I heart fashion but come on... What SJP had gotten right was the beleif that good clothing need not go over the $20.00 range.

SJP has a fabulous flair for style, may it be as the unflappable Carrie or as herself. I haven't seen her clothing line, Bitten, yet but i'm really looking forward to it. Especially when it has affordable written all over its price tag.

    I normally shop at Macy's, Carson's, Nordstrom's etc but I was intrigued when I saw SJP (LOVE HER) on Oprah so enthused about her new line. The styles demo'd on O didnt wow me but I love the reason for the line since it sickens me how celebs that grew with nothing have no problem charging their fans such ridic prices for their fashion lines, I mean $49.99 for a tee - nice work Gwen, Beyonce, Sean John etc! Anyway, today I went to Steve & Barry's not knowing what to expect & I was impressed with the array of items (from undies & bras to shoed.. it's all covered), so I went through grabbing whatever caught my eye & was in my size & waited for the total...hmmm - 12 items - for $110? - DAMMMN, talk about nice prices - that includes 2 pairs of jeans & a cute dressy blazer - so I get home & try it all - since the fit is usually the deal breaker & voila - it all looks fab with the exception of one pair of khaki shorts that shows my knees so it's goin back but the fit, quality & price CAN NOT be beat, not by Target, Walmart, nada! I'm sold, all the more reason to love SJP!

    Right! Celebs have rightfuly established themselves in their careers but not in the fashion industry...as start ups in the fashion retail industry, I don't think they should charge that high.
