Spring Whimsy

What is spring without whimsy? Australian label Sass and Bide brings in a lot of it into their Spring 2007 collection. The theme, "Denim and Play", brings to mind those special play clothes children wore when the sun was back in the sky and the days were just perfect for frolicking. Imagine that: the snow has melted, the sun is shining, fashionistas are out to play...

The black pouffy bolero and Italian Riviera-esque sun glasses adds some drama to what would have been a standard tank-top-and-shorts outfit. I also dig that bow bracelet. Now thats an idea- instead of the usual bangles, why not just tie a wide velvet or silk bow around your wrist?

The model makes the feathered bag look cute but i don't think I can pull it off... I love how all the layers work together. 2007 will be about layers that flatter one's figure and shows it off nicely.

All those vibrant colors- and they don't clash at all! And where, oh where, can I buy that lovely pink belt with a shell (or horn) buckle?

Goodbye black/gray/navy tights! The Gold Coast brings us (but what else?) burnt gold tights that look really fabulous with the light yellow top. Its hard to tell which really is the highlight of this outfit. But if you ask me, it would be wide sash that you can wrap around your waist in many ways (go experiment and have fun). Now draw your attention to those fabulous black sandals- it shows that wearing yellow and a bit of black together doesn't necessarily make one look like a banana.
