The Devil Wears Prada Soundtrack

I loved the movie so I had to see if the soundtrack was worth buying as well. Lets put it this way- if a fashion magazine were to turn into a music CD, this would be it. I think the mix of songs capture the upbeat, somewhat fickle, always trendy mood of a mod publishing house. Yep, even the devilish Miranda Priestly would approve.

I don't like all the songs but some are really worth downloading into your MP3 player. Bittersweet Faith by Bitter-Sweet, which reminds me of lounge music, drips with slow, lovely fatalism. Tres Tres Chic by the Mocean Workers is in French and is more upbeat. U2's City of Blinding Lights is also here. Its disappointing that Les Yeux Ouverts (which sounds like the French version of Dream a Little Dream of Me) didn't make it to the CD. I thought it sounded very innocent, romantic, full of promise. It was the only piece that didn't sound disillusioned in there. Maybe, like Andrea Sachs, it was just too pure for the cut throat fashion scene.
