Weddings and gowns

Ok, I admit it. Even as a little girl, I’d be poring over the “weddings” sections of newspapers and glossies. I’d cut out pictures and then stick them onto a little scrapbook of my own. No, I wasn’t daydreaming about the day I would walk down the aisle. I was 8 years old. Rather, It was the gowns that kept me captivated for hours. Silk, organza, gauze, and lace- these were the stuff that seemed to transform all those women into princesses. You could imagine how ecstatic I was whenever an aunt or an older cousin would get married. I was told that I didn’t hesitate to walk up to the bride-to-be, perch on her knee, and tell her what I’d like to wear as a flower girl. I’ve long since broken that embarrassing habit and more aspects of a wedding get me all excited now, but I still find myself pausing to look at wedding gowns longer than I normally would other clothing articles. Remember what I said about gowns being the stuff dreams are made of? This Indian sari-inspired Armani gown had me at hello:

Elegant, flowing, and softly sensuous. It’s perfect.
